Specs-tacular

Today I have been inspired by a friend, so this post is dedicated to her. She has inspired me on many levels but today is purely materialistic, she bought new specs!

She “instagramed” a picture of her new super cool and trendy frame by Oliver Peoples. This reminded me of a post I published last year so I had to go and check their new collection, just to satisfy myself that they are still bang on trend, and they so are!

I notably spotted this frame for men which is classic, elegant but quirky at the same time.

Their Sun Shop is also a delight. There is not one pair you won’t want to buy so don’t get your purse out of your bag! The collection has a retro-chic cool which would add glamour to any outfit and makes you want to book your next beach holiday. From so many pairs to choose from, here are my selection of must-have:

Here is the easy way to enjoy being eco-friendly

If one of your new year resolutions is to be more conscious about your every day actions and maybe be more eco-friendly then this post is for you so read on.

I wrote a while ago on vegan shoes and green sustainable fashion items. What you are about to discover goes further. There is a website entirely designed to eco-friendly and ethical fashion. It is effectively a collection of websites with a common ethical spirit for like minded customers with a will to do something for the planet. It is called StyleWithHeart and the link is http://www.stylewithheart.com/#

One of my pick is this rose gold watch from Ella Georgia at http://ellageorgia.com/ especially as rose gold is a serious new trend for SS14 whether it’s jewellery or home accessories. So check it out!

The sales and the chaos

Happy New Year! I am back, well, sort of. It has been hectic and I am trying to keep up.
I am sure many fashionistas have already commented at length on what a nightmare the sales can be, if you are claustrophobic, or a great distraction if you like a bargain! Therefore, and as we all have an opinion, I will not dwell on the topic.

I would like however to share my recent 2 picks from TM Lewin which would be a great addition to any wardrobe as they would work in the office as well as with a more casual outfit….

Have fun and hope you took sensible new year resolutions!

Here comes the wind

The weather forecast was for once correct, strong winds and chaos as a result. South West trains’ advice is not to travel. In itself, this is quite funny as they are not running trains this morning!  So decided to revert to plan B and take a desperately slow bus and then a tube, which I have already been told, is massively busy.

So I am on my way, although not there yet, and I have already seen the evidence of last night storm. This was at the top of our road:

The positive side of it all, bright blue sky for now as clouds have been blown away!

Aonie the must-have Italian jewelry

I am always on the hunt for something different, something bespoke, something that I will be the only one to wear. I do not like bumping into other ladies wearing the same outfit or same accessories as this makes you look common and not so original.

I was therefore very pleased when a friend introduced me to Aonie. She was wearing a pair of earnings from their recent collection and I fell in love with it. They have such classy, original and smart designs that you can wear in all circumstances. Their prices are reasonable too, a nice treat for a friend or yourself!

I definitely recommend you visit their website: http://www.aonie.it/?lang=en

Wine and Co

I will sound very French but a nice meal with good food is not quite the same without a good bottle of wine. Agreed?

I won’t list all my favourites because there are a few. However, my friend made me laugh this weekend…. she bought a bottle of viognier called “the elegant frog”, I am sure you will see the pun! And stuck my picture on the label for good measures!

That was part of my weekend routine….

Alice and Olivia rock the trend

I recently went window shopping and noticed some interesting looking shoes. In a nutshell, they were cute, pointy, mid-heel and….. looked like a mouse’s face! If you can call it a “face” of course!
Personally, the animal look was taking it a step too far, it’s bad enough that animal prints still remain very much a wardrobe staple this winter. So instead I found this demure version from Alice and Olivia:

Coffee association

A colleague made me discover http://www.associationcoffee.com/ Definitely one place to try if you are a coffee amateur. The place is inviting and deliciously smells of freshly brewed coffee. The staff is super friendly and the deco rustic and minimal but cosy. The place is also perfect for business catch ups.

You will see in the picture below the nice white milk froth forming this perfect and pretty flower-esque drawing, well….. they serve your coffee exactly like that! It is not just to pretend they serve fancy coffee, they actually do and prepare each individually with care. It is so nice and refreshing to step into a coffee shop which doesn’t feel like an upgraded supermarket. You know this feeling of going to one of the big coffee chains where they prepare every coffee in fast forward motion and are so eager to take the order of the next customer in line behind you? Well it doesn’t have to be like that and at coffee association you feel more at home.

Coffee lovers you have been told…. you need to try!
