In exactly a month from today, it will be time for romantic gestures. Why only once a year and not the other 364 days of the year? Or why not every 14th of each month?
Anyhow, Valentine’s day means making your better half happy. There is no specific rule, it can be a small or a big treat, expensive or not, but ideally it needs to be thoughtful. Very often I hear the cliche that Valentine’s is overrated and that people don’t mind not getting anything. Valentine’s day may be overrated, but receiving something always pleases and always is a nice surprise getting you brownie points. Therefore, over the next few weeks I will be posting varied gifts ideas.
Valentine’s day can indeed be expensive as you need the present, flowers, bubbles, nice dinner, whether in or out etc… it can all add up especially as shops and restaurants put a mark up on their usual price that day just because they can! Do expensive set menus in an overcrowded restaurant rings a bell?
Alright, first thing first, have a plan! The first step is to make sure you buy a card. Although, with so many cheesy ones in the shops, be careful and try to find something more meaningful. To personalise your card, try http://www.moonpig.com. Number of other websites do offer similar products so you should be able to find a card which will resonate.
Secondly, set yourself an alarm or reminder to buy your lady a small plant. Flowers are lovely but don’t last. A plant makes a nice lasting souvenir. You can easily pre-order on http://www.interflora.co.uk
Here you go, you have the basics covered. I will keep posting eclectic ideas over the coming weeks and there will be some for everyone so keep tuning in.
